Hello from the Guinns

I guess I will jump on the bandwagon and contribute to this blog. Hey, if I can do it I think everybody else can too- I am not very computer literate.

We are staying as busy as ever. I am staying home with the kids and have started watching Owen a couple of times a week. Liam and Owen really like spending time together and they play remarkably well for a couple of two year olds! Some may say a stay-at-home mom's life is boring, but I seem to keep busy with the boys. We like to go to the park and the library. We have Bible study on Wednesdays and playgroup on Fridays. Sarah started taking my boys one day a week so I can get stuff done. That is nice to have a day off, but I usually just come home and do housework. It's amazing how much I can get done without kids under my feet!

Ashley is finishing up her senior year of high school. She is the captain of the dance team and that keeps her really busy. She just got a job at a local church (a huge church) as a day care worker. She watches the kids while the parents are in their Bible study classes. We aren't sure what age group she will be with since she is still in training. Ashley is planning on studying to be an elementary school teacher. She wants to go away to college, but of course we are hoping she will choose a school in San Antonio and live at home. I told her if she lives at home she will not have to pay for room and board and she will have so much money to buy clothes and shoes. That did make her pause and think, so maybe I will get through to her.

Sarah is in the First Grade and loving it. She has become an excellent reader and she reads everything she can get her hands on. She loves to learn and she comes home and teaches me cool things that she learned at school. Sarah is also in dance. She looks like a ballerina and she seems to have inherited coordination and grace. I am not sure where that came from- definitely not from me. Sarah is very energetic and talkative. On her last report card her teacher raved about how well she is doing but noted that she tends to talk a bit too much to the other kids when she finishes her work. I wasn't really surprised since she talks non-stop at home. I guess we will have to work on that one.

Liam is my little buddy. He is all boy, but very sweet at the same time. He is beginning to learn compassion and he gets very concerned when he hurts someone or if he sees someone crying. He loves to play with balls and he is a great shot with his little basketball hoop. He loves to play outside and run. He thinks he is a big boy and he tries to carry baby Austin around. He carries him from one side of the couch to the other. He is really enjoying being a big brother- he kisses and hugs Austin a lot. He also loves to come up to us and say "guess what? I love you." It is the sweetest thing ever!

Austin is such a sweet and happy baby. He is so mild mannered and quick to smile. He looks just like Liam, only balder. It is hard to tell their baby pictures apart. He is crawling all around the house and "cruising" on the furniture. He seems to want to walk, but then I think he remembers that he is the baby and he sits down. He woke up the other night and I didn't rush to him so he stood up in his crib and shouted "hey!!". It was really funny. I am sure he didn't know what he was saying, but it was cute.

Jeremy is working hard at the heart hospital. He is very talented at what he does and I know the doctors really like working with him. He probably should have gone to medical school when we were young- he seems to know more than some of the doctors! He comes home and tries to explain the cases with me and I just can't keep up. He amazes me. The kids just love him. When they hear the door open they all run to it shouting "daddy, daddy!". Even little Austin speed crawls to the door to meet daddy. It is so sweet and it just makes Jeremy's day to see the kids all greet him so enthusiastically.

Well, I guess I have talked everyone's ears off. I hope that you all take the opportunity to sign up to this blog and that we can keep in touch. I miss you all and hope we can arrange a family reunion very soon. San Antonio is a great place to visit, and we can provide places to stay for you all to visit- hint hint. Take care and please post something so we can know that you are all alive!!

It makes me so excited to have kids to read about everything Ashley, Sarah, Liam and Austin are up to. I swear you are living my dream life. I just can't wait to have kids.

Steph, even though I live here and see you almost every week, it's fun reading your family updates. :) I'll have to agree that your kids are AMAZING!
